The pay TV market continues to experience strong global growth.

Recent findings from ABI Research found that satellite TV and telco TV continue to experience sustained growth. They are the biggest gainers in the global market for pay TV, which continued to rise in the first half of 2013 with a 3 percent increase, or 23 million subscribers, added during the quarter. Pay TV subscriptions are projected to reach 895 million by the end of this year, generating a service revenue total of $245 billion.

Growth also continued in North America, where the ABI forecasted that 1.5 million subscribers are expected to be added in 2013. North American subscribers will total 11.9 million by the end of 2013, and service revenues are expected to amount to about $10 billion.

Satellite TV and telco TV continued to experience higher market penetration than cable and terrestrial pay TV services during the first half of the year, Broadcast Engineering reported. The rise of fiber-enabled TV service delivered by telecom providers and video transport via satellite will continue to drive the need for next generation modular receiver decoder solutions in broadcast backhaul systems.

Modular receiver decoders are essential to fortifying video broadcast systems to meet the needs of next generation video transmission. They can receive feeds in any format, including RF, IP and ASI, demodulating, de-encapsulating and decoding video for re-encoding, providing uninterrupted, interoperable delivery.

Sencore provides reliable, cost-effective solutions for signal transmission and content delivery. Our line of receiver/decoders support all common video formats, blending industry-leading functionality with an evolutionary capacity for next-generation video transport demands.
