Sencore, Inc. is a U.S. company started in 1951 in Chicago by Herb Bowden, who previously worked for Admiral Television as an application engineer. During his work with service technicians, Herb saw a need for test instruments that would provide a straight-forward approach for servicing and reduce the time spent troubleshooting and substituting parts to isolate a problem. The first instrument was designed in his garage in the evenings. Herb demonstrated and sold his equipment to technicians in the local area.

As Sencore expanded its product offerings and the business grew, Mr. Bowden looked to relocate the company headquarters. He decided to move back to South Dakota, the state in which he had been raised, where real estate and an available workforce were plentiful.

Since 1970, Sioux Falls has been the Sencore headquarters.  Sencore has become an integral part of the community and employs over 175 people in various jobs including: Technical Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Application Engineering, Accounting and other Administrative positions.

Sencore is vertically integrated with all manufacturing, servicing, product design, sales and administration at the Sioux Falls location. This provides Sencore with a unique advantage in providing the best customer sales and support in the industry. It has grown from a garage business to a company with multi-million dollar domestic and international sales.

As the need for television servicing diminished, Sencore expanded its product offerings in collateral markets.  Today, Sencore is a global market leader in Digital Television (DTV) operational and test & measurement equipment for broadcasters, satellite and cable DTV providers, IPTV network providers, and Telcos.  Sencore is also a market leader in custom A/V installation and calibration instruments.

Sencore's Communications Division provides operational and test & measurement products that are focused on the Broadcast, Cable and Telco markets and consumer A/V product design and manufacturing. The Communications Division's product line technology includes the delivery, transporting, storage, conformance testing and receiving of MPEG-2/4, IP, 8-VSB, QPSK, QAM and analog broadcast signals.

The Custom Audio/Video Products and Electronic Service Division offers a variety of products that can be used for custom theater/home automation installation and calibration, commercial or contractor audio/video installation and calibration, gaming casino monitor and power supply troubleshooting, and medical imaging, general troubleshooting and maintenance applications and test lab safety equipment. Sencore also offers multiple hands-on training opportunities to keep engineers and technicians updated on the latest technology, and to keep your service center ahead of the competition. Each of these products and training events can be viewed on this website.
