SENCORE Products Featured at HD World 2010

With more than 50 years of investment and success in engineering design and technology, SENCORE offers a complete line of products that offer reliable, consistent, and high-quality video signal delivery to support cost-effective contribution and distribution. In New York City, SENCORE will highlight five products with effective and advanced technology that contributes to efficient HD video distribution, and innovative tools for signal monitoring, measurement, and analysis in a variety of applications.

SENCORE TXS 3453 Transcoder
The new TXS 3453 transcoder delivers multiple channels of best-in-class, high-performance, reliable transcoding in a high-density 1RU chassis. With a configurable engine and multichannel architecture, it can perform both SD and HD transcoding besides converting variable bit rate (VBR) to constant bit rate (CBR), or CBR to VBR at an unbeatable cost per channel. Key features include bidirectional video transcoding from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4/H.264 and/or H.264 to MPEG-2 in all common HD or SD formats, as well as ASI and IP transport stream and optional RF interfaces. The TXS 3453 offers up to 16 channels.

SENCORE MRD 3187B Receiver Decoder
The versatile MRD 3187B receiver decoder adapts to almost any contribution, distribution, or backhaul environment and sets the standard for performance, scalable functionality, and cost of ownership. No surprise that SENCORE’s next generation, standard-setting modular receiver decoders (MRDs) have been installed by more broadcast, cable, satellite, and telco providers than any other.

SENCORE IRD 3000 Series Integrated Receivers Decoders

SENCORE IRD 3000 Series receivers/decoders are cost-effective solutions for distributing video services on any network with targeted applications. The new integrated receiver decoder (IRD) is designed to support SD applications, allowing operations to leverage their existing SD infrastructures while enabling easy upgrade to HD for the future. The IRD 3000 product family supports inputs including a satellite RF or MPEGoIP combined with ASI transport stream, while transport stream outputs are available on ASI and MPEGoIP for distribution to digital networks.

SENCORE DMG 3000 Series Multiplexers

SENCORE’s Digital Media Gateway (DMG) 3000 Series multiplexers now offers a new 16 QAM channel output module for enhanced density in digital cable deployments. The new features add to the already flexible IP, ASI, and RF capabilities. Placing multiple QAM modules in a single chassis enables hundreds of channels to be deployed from it. The DMG 3000 can also receive 8VSB off-air, DVB-S/S2 Satellite, ASI, and IP signals for providing multiplexed IP, ASI, and now QAM outputs.

SENCORE SMD 989 DVB-S2 Modulator

The SENCORE SMD 989 DVB-S2 modulator, packaged in a two-channel 1RU chassis, offers unprecedented efficiency and flexibility for modulating two independent DVB-S2 RF transmissions. The platform provides multistream satellite video delivery, minimizing overall transponder usage, and accepts transport streams via DVB-ASI or IP inputs using the UDP or RTP protocols.

SENCORE Monitoring, Measurement, and Analysis Tools at HD World 2010

The SLM 1477 Signal Level Meter tests bonded DOCSIS 3.0, providing a pass/fail result that can be sent directly from the meter via coax, LAN port, or USB. Equipped with optical measurement capabilities, the SLM 1477 provides everything installers and operators are looking for in a signal level meter. The SENCORE VideoBRIDGE family monitors stream-based IP packets for continuous quality assurance of streaming media in a variety of compression schemes, including MPEG-2 and MPEG-4. VideoBRIDGE products include advanced core monitoring systems for national networks, edge-specific, and even customer-premises applications. The TSM 1770 Transport Stream Monitor enables engineers to monitor compressed audio, video, and data services on any satellite network. With full support for ASI, SMPTE 310M, 8-VSB, QAM, and Ethernet physical inputs, the TSM 1770 reports transport stream status on the physical layer, protocol, and audio/video levels.
