New SENCORE Products at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2010

SENCORE TXS 3453 Transcoder
On display at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® will be the new SENCORE TXS 3453, a high-performance transcoding platform delivering multiple channels of best-in-class transcoding in a reliable, high-density 1RU chassis. Relying on a configurable engine and multichannel architecture, users can perform both SD and HD transcoding along with the ability to convert VBR to CBR or CBR to VBR at an unbeatable cost per channel. Key features include bidirectional video transcoding from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4/H.264 and/or H.264 to MPEG-2 in all common HD or SD formats, as well as ASI and IP transport stream and optional RF interfaces. The TXS 3453 offers up to 16 channels, providing cable operators with a uniquely cost-effective solution for transcoding from H.264 to MPEG2 for use in legacy RF distribution networks.

SENCORE DMG 3000 Series Multiplexers

SENCORE’s Digital Media Gateway line of multiplexers has added a new 16 QAM channel output module to its already flexible line of IP, ASI, and RF capabilities.  This new 16-channel module provides enhanced density for digital cable deployments. When multiple QAM modules are placed within a chassis, hundreds of channels can be deployed from a single chassis with the ability to multiplex and descramble, which is currently offered in the DMG product. The DMG 3000 has the ability to receive 8VSB off-air, DVB-S/S2 Satellite, ASI, and IP signals for providing multiplexed IP, ASI, and now QAM outputs.

SENCORE MRD 3187B Receiver Decoder
SENCORE’s next generation of standard-setting modular receiver decoders (MRDs) have been installed by more broadcast, cable, satellite, and telco providers than any other. The versatile MRD 3187B adapts to virtually any contribution, distribution, or backhaul environment and sets the standard for performance, scalable functionality, and cost of ownership. Features include SCTE-35-104 message conversion for commercial insertion applications, DVB-Common Interface for conditional access decryption, multiservice descrambling, and advanced DVB-S2 capabilities such as 16APSK and VCM support.

SENCORE IRD 3000 Series Integrated Receivers Decoders

The SENCORE IRD 3000 line of professional receivers/decoders offers cost-effective solutions for the distribution of video services for any network with targeted applications. The new IRD is designed to support SD applications, allowing operations to leverage their existing SD infrastructures while enabling easy upgrade to HD for the future. The IRD 3000 product family supports inputs including a satellite RF or MPEGoIP combined with ASI transport stream, while transport stream outputs are available on ASI and MPEGoIP for distribution to digital networks. The IRD also provides high-quality MPEG-2 and H.264 SD video formats on analog or serial digital outputs with an option to enable HD formats.

SENCORE SMD 989 DVB-S2 Modulator

The SENCORE SMD 989 DVB-S2 Modulator, packaged in a two-channel 1RU chassis, offers unprecedented modulation efficiency and flexibility in performing modulation of two independent DVB-S2 RF transmissions. The platform provides multistream satellite video delivery, minimizing overall transponder usage, and accepts transport streams via DVB-ASI or IP inputs using the UDP or RTP protocols. More SMD 989 DVB-S2 features include an optional agile L-band upconverter with output frequency range of 950 to 2150 MHz, support for all modulation formats defined in the DVB-S2 standard, and optional multistream inputs along with an agile RF upconverter.

SENCORE CMA 1820 Compressed Media Analyzer

The CMA 1820 Compressed Media Analyzer is the industry’s first total solution for encoding compliance testing of video content for both broadcast and Internet streaming. By performing in-depth analysis of video encoding in all leading formats — including H.264, MPEG-2, and VC-1 in container files such as Transport Stream, 3GP, ASF, Flash®, MP4, Smooth Streaming, and QuickTime® — the CMA 1820 eliminates the need for visual inspection or additional compliance testing from a different source.

SENCORE SLM 1477 Signal Level Meter

Providing everything installers and operators are looking for in a signal level meter, the new  SENCORE SLM 1477 performs analog and digital measurements, including pre/post BER, MER, spectral display, DOCSIS 3.0 Network, Leakage, and Ingress testing. Designed to test bonded DOCSIS channels, the SLM 1477 provides a pass/fail result that can be sent directly from the meter via coax, LAN port, or USB. The SLM 1477 also comes equipped with optical measurement capabilities. It is suitable for CATV installation and troubleshooting, off-air 8VSB reception-broadcast footprint quality, and private cable systems anywhere RF is used.
