Sencore Color Calibration Library
In an effort to support our customers in the field better, Sencore has developed relationships with many television manufacturers to access service information pertaining to display calibration. The result of these relationships is our online Display Calibration Library. On this website, the Sencore technical staff has documented the service information for many modern and legacy televisions. Technicians with Sencore calibration equipment may request a username and password for access to the site. The calibration website is accessible from any internet connected computer.
The information that technicians routinely need to perform a field calibration is normally buried within the service literature that TV repair technicians use to diagnose and fix problems in televisions. The service manuals are normally purchased from the manufacturer of the television, or sometimes from a distributor. Instead of you having to purchase a service manual for every TV you need to calibrate, the Sencore technical staff has organized the pertinent service information and has documented the quirks and nuances of each television chassis. By making the service information available on a website, and providing the necessary calibration information, we make the whole calibration process much easier and more efficient.
The site also has entry points for adding comments on specific monitors that can be incorporated into the site.
Armed with the service information, the calibrator will be able to access the menus within the TV, which is necessary for proper calibration on most televisions. With the detailed information, calibrators can access hidden controls to adjust the deepest parameters in the TV, like sub brightness, sub contrast, and the cutoff/drive controls. We provide the detailed calibration information, where to go, how to get there, and what to adjust.
If you do not already have a password for the site, click the New Login link. Give us your name, your business name, and your business phone number, and we'll send you your own password to log in. Once logged on to the website, navigate to the manufacturer listings, select a brand and model. Provided information includes the service menu access code, how to move about the menu, how to save, and what the manufacturer codes mean.

Let's take a look at a Sony Rear projection LCD television, to see a typical entry in the calibration library. The first page that appears contains the Manufacturer name, the Model #, the Chassis ID, and the Type of display. In addition to the hard data of the TV, we provide the necessary codes and conditions for calibrating a display; such as how to navigate and how to change data while in the service menu.
If you look in the upper middle of the page, you'll see Adjustment Addresses. This opens the page that will tell you where and what the controls are that you want to adjust, as well as what they mean.
In addition to service information, each entry in the library has a comments section for the use of our customers, for tips, or things on the TV to pay attention to. To enter a comment, locate the television you wish to comment on, click on the Comments link, and fill out the form.
If your exact model is not listed, the procedure for getting information on it is to either call Sencore Tech support (1-800-736-2673 ext 246) or email tech support (
colorlogin@sencore.com). Because thousands of different models of TVs exist, it proves impossible to keep the model list current with every TV that has been produced. We do have an extensive network of manufacturer contacts that we can tap into, though, in the event of needing unlisted information. We ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice on non-listed TVs, to give us time to research the required information.
In addition to the service code and controls, we have organized additional service literature in an easy-to-browse ftp site. On some models the service menu info is not sufficient. We created the ftp site so our clients can log into it to download detailed procedures, scans of service manual pages, either on site or at the office.
The ftp site is found at ftp.sencore.com and contains scans from service manuals, ordering information for special remotes, and calibration guides.
In summary, Sencore has created an online library of video display calibration information at
www.sencore.com/color to better support you, our customer. We have also set up an ftp site with additional calibration information for many televisions.
