SoundPro SP395/495 Enhancement Option
A precision, low-noise Type 1 microphone for precision measurement documentation, background noise level tests down to NC20, high sound pressure level measurements, and high quality audio recordings.

Precision, Low-Noise Microphone SP-PMIC1 Features:
Omnidirectional, electret condenser microphone with flat frequency response.
Meets IEC651 Type 1 requirements.
Nickel-copper alloy fine-grained foil diaphram is ultra-stable under changing atmospheric conditions.
Low 17 dBA self-noise for background noise level measurements down to NC20.
Maximum input level of 146 dB SPL for high sound pressure level measurements.
Standard 3-pin XLR output connector accepts 9 volt to 48 volt phantom supply power.
Low 100 ohm output impedance drives any standard microphone input.

SP-PMIC1 has a frequency response of ±1.5 dB from 20-20,000 Hz compared to ± 2 dB or more on a standard microphone. An ideal "flat" frequency response means that the microphone is equally sensitive to all frequencies. No frequencies would be exaggerated or reduced, resulting in a more accurate representation of the original sound. A flat frequency response over the microphone's frequency range will result in an accurate and natural recorded image.

Omni-directional Polar Pattern

A polar pattern is a graph of a microphone's sensitivity vs. the angle of the incoming sound wave. Microphones are said to be omnidirectional if they can detect sound equally from all directions. A microphone's polar response describes its sensitivity to sound approaching the microphone from various angles. A microphone's polar response pattern makes it useful for different applications, particularly multi-microphone settings where proximity of sound sources makes microphone leakage a problem.

Protected by Padded Wooden Case

As a precision sensor, care should be taken to protect the SP-MIC1 so it provides years precision measurement. The SP-PMIC1 comes in a protective wooden case complete with a microphone stand attachment.
