VP40x 'VideoPro' Software Upgrade:

The VP400, VP401, VP402, and VP403/VP403C VideoPro video generators have been available in two hardware versions; with the original version main board, and with a newer version main board which provides optional SDI/HDSDI output capabilities. The original main board operates with version 1.xx firmware. The newer main board operates with version 2.xx firmware. The two versions of firmware are not cross-compatible with the two versions of main board, and will not provide normal functionality with the non-compatible version of hardware. Your VP40x generator's current version of firmware can be identified on the bottom line of the VideoPro turn-on screen.

The current version of firmware for the original main board VP40x units is 1.72s.
The current version of firmware for the newer main board VP40x units is 2.06s.

These two versions of firmware provide the same operational capabilities. Other than the optional SDI/HDSDI serial digital video output capabilities of the newer version main board, all other features, capabilities and specifications of the two hardware and firmware versions of the VP40x are the same.

If your VP40x VideoPro generator is currently running version 1.xx firmware, you will also see that the signal output position to the right of the Composite video jack is labeled "RF," whether a signal output jack is actually installed at that position or not.

Note: If you have the newer version main board, with a version of 2.xx firmware older than 2.06s, please contact the Sencore Service department at 1-800-736-2673 x301 for information on upgrading your generator firmware. This firmware cannot currently be updated in the field, and must be sent back to Sencore for update.
