Overview

 A regional telecom and ISP provider is deploying a next-generation video delivery infrastructure to serve the hospitality sector across multiple hotel properties. The system is a centralized headend, which aggregates, decrypts, and distributes OTT video and EPG services over a fiber-based network. The solution utilizes an OTT Decrypt platform to securely decrypt services from an external CDN and DRM license provider, with full support for Common Encryption (CENC) standards.

 To ensure accurate metadata and real-time program guide presentation, the architecture includes a dedicated EPG data source, which injects scrolling guide information. The metadata is then multicast over a private fiber network to multiple hotel locations, where they are re-modulated into QAM RF output compatible with in-room television systems.

At the processing core, a modular IP video platform handles stream adaptation, filtering, and packaging, while a centralized management interface offers remote visibility, diagnostics, and control over channel configurations and system health.

This deployment enables the service provider to deliver a secure, reliable, and fully managed IPTV/QAM solution tailored for hospitality environments. By consolidating decryption and distribution within a single platform and leveraging multicast distribution over fiber, the provider significantly reduces complexity and operational cost while enhancing the hotel guest experience with high-quality linear content and integrated program guides.
